The Murray Files

Discussing Andy Murray's quest for a grand slam title.

Andy Murray: M.I.A.

I am thinking about sending Andy a wee tweet as he has been silent — in the twitter world — since his 3rd round capitulation at the hands of Stan Wawrinka.

Perhaps he’s at the bottom of a bottle, or he could be brushing Kim’s hair 100 times for her.  Who knows as both are realistic possibilities.  Either way he needs to snap out of it and get tweeting, as people are starting to worry (read:  Alex has started talking to his hand).

Today the expression ‘save the best for last’ comes to mind.  5-time former champion (you know who) v. the inform powerhouse Robin Soderling, is the final match on Arthur Ashe court tonight.  If both carry on with the form they’ve shown to this point, this match will be a classic.

It is difficult to bet against Federer, but other than Nadal, only Soderling gives the 16-time grand slam champion as many problems.

This may be worth tweeting about, but if Soderling gets to the semi-finals of this US Open, he will move ahead of Jonny Dropshot (aka Murray) and into 4th in the world rankings.

So which would you prefer:  Murray falling down the rankings or Federer moving closer to another grand slam final?
