5 Best Rock Songs…Probably

Still working on my albums, so in the meantime, here are five very tasty, meaty, chunky, make you wanna faint, have-it, get-some, pumpin riffs you’re  ever likely to hear.  NME and Radio 1 take note, this what a real song sounds like:

On a sporting note.  Not long till the aussie open.  Yes!  Andy Murray used to like listening to the black eyed peas before going on court.  He should listen to any of the above.  Nadal wouldn’t stand a chance then.

My prediction for Nadal for 2011:

Quarter final exits at every grand slam; exception of the French, which he will of course win.

Is there a more beautiful tennis player? No, there isn't.

I’m making good progress in cataloguing all the albums I’ve ever owned to work out my own personal top 10.

I can tell you right now 4 albums that will not be in my top 10… NME will be so disappointed.

(1) Radiohead – OK Computer

(2) Beatles – Revolver

(3) Nirvana – Nevermind

(4) No albums by U2.

Stay tuned.  My list is the only list you’ll ever need for your continued enjoyment of music.

Nice.

An honest assessment of the top 20 men’s tennis players (and about time).

1. Rafael Nadal (Spa) (great already, but will be finished within 4 years….too injury prone)

2. Roger Federer (Swi) (16 majors, doesn’t matter what else he does. already the best ever….prob win 2 more majors)

3. Novak Djokovic (Ser) (young simon cowell lookalike)

4. Andy Murray (GB) (too rich, lack of confidence, too much time tweeting)

5. Robin Soderling (Swe) (6 good months, but still too moody to be the best)

6. Tomas Berdych (Cze) (good – on his day)

7. David Ferrer (Spa) (no tricks lightweight)

8. Andy Roddick (US) (8 years past his best.  one trick pony)

9. Fernando Verdasco (Spa) (good match, bad match. good match, bad match)

10. Mikhail Youzhny (Rus) (mr last 16)

11. Juergen Melzer (Aut) (sparring partner for the big-boys)

12. Gael Monfils (Fra) (not consistent)

13. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (Fra) (lazy)

14. Marin Cilic (Cro) (the new Marat Satan..Safin)

15. Nicolas Almagro (Spa) (erm, clay courter?)

16. Mardy Fish (US) (one win v. Murray doesn’t make him a threat)

17. Ivan Ljubicic (Cro) (sounds like a sex-toy)

18. Sam Querrey (US) (nobody going nowhere)

19. John Isner (US) (lumbering oaf, to dependent on aces)

20. Marcos Baghdatis (Cyp) (5 yrs past his best, which was never that good)

So, gonna veer into a little music.  I’ve been having a chat or two with the good tennis doctor, and I’ve decided to come up with my top 10 albums of all time.  It’s no easy feat though, lots to consider, and I’m currently cataloguing every album I’ve ever owned.  Once I’m done that I’ll start narrowing it down to a top 50, top 40, top 30, top 20 and then top 10.

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that the best band on the planet are the Smashing Pumpkins.  Nobody can argue with that; certainly no sane person anyway.  Well, as many of you will know there was never a band who hated each other more than the pumpkins (that’s what spurred them on in my opinion).  Well, I’ve done a little digging, and found a counselling session the original four members did with an english psychologist.  It is very fascinating.

Watch out for my album list.  It’ll be groundbreaking!
