Very very dissapointing performance from the british number 1.

I didn’t think she was ever really in the match.  Henin dictated every single point, and in truth she never had to get out of 2nd gear to win the match.

British players need to play with more balls (If you’ll pardon the pun).  They need to have more belief, a belief that they are better than their opponent, and not just to turn up with the same old attitude, same old lines:

“She’s an amazing player, so I’ll have to be firing on all cylinders if I’m to have a chance”  – This is the usual defeatist statement that you hear from 99% of british players.

What she should actually be saying is:

“Justine who?  It doesn’t matter who I’m playing, because I’m going to destroy them in straight sets!”

I’m going to be writing all these pearls of wisdom down in my new book “Things winners say”, so watch out for that shortly.

Come on Keothovong and Murray.

6 out of 10 for effort, much try harder
