Discussing Andy Murray's quest for a grand slam title.

Into the 3nd round in style

The old saying ‘if you’ve got it, you’ve got it’ applies today.  The great one, aka 16, aka Feddypoo, aka The face of modern tennis, moved into the 3rd round (you need to win two matches to find yourself in the 3rd round, in case anybody outside of the top 4 in the world is wondering).

But even more importantly, Roger equalled Pete Sampras’ all-time record for most matches won on tour.

As usual, Roger was extremely gracious and said the Pete could have played for longer and extended his personal total of scalps claimed.  But sadly he chose to change nappies and look after the garden.  On the other hand, he went out as a top player, which I wish more players would do, as they definitely don’t *need the money.

*If you saw Marit Safin’s box at the US Open (no family, only strippers and blue movie stars) you can see why some players need to play on a bit to finance hobbies and interests.

Finally, I just want everybody to take a minute and reflect on how lucky we have been the past 10 years, watching the greatest men’s tennis player evolve, take his 16 grand slams, and bring more fans into the tennis family than probably any other player in the history of the game.

Can I get a ‘Hell Yeah!’.  Hallelujah, sing it out brother.
